I hear folks of a certain political persuasion accusing others of being sheep, for believing the “MSM” and such. It comes off as simple projection (knowing or not), as it is seems pretty obvious they are the ones being fleeced, by too many pastors, politicians, and a former President.
It is consistent though. They accuse public schools of indoctrination, when that is what they aim to do with vouchers and “school choice”.
They accuse the LGBTQ+ community and those who support them as being sinful and “groomers” (patently untrue), all while waving away the rampant sexual abuse of minors by leadership in churches, claiming those leaders repented and been absolved by God.
They accuse others of being part of the swamp, when many in their leadership are about nothing but the grift and lining their pockets.
They cry out “we’re persecuted”, when they have more platform and power than they’ve ever had, and at the same time are actively working to persecute, demean, and marginalize so many others.
That truly does seem to be the game: accuse others of exactly what you are doing or would do if you had the ability, all in the hopes that no one will take a closer look at the ones yelling (or bleating) the loudest.
Don’t be afraid to be the black sheep. Call out the hypocrisy, even if it feels like a risk. We can only address what assails this country if we are honest about the situation.
See it. Name it. Fight it.
Comparing churches to what the LGBT efforts are about is really something else.
